Day 2 --East to Brandon--
Part 1
A good night sleep and and I'm getting ready to go Brandon.
The hotel that I'm staying at has a complimentary breakfast, I want to compliment them on the excellent porridge they have, it always reminds me of my Dad who had porridge most mornings, I should eat more porridge at home.
Its about 3.5 hours to Brandon and its another nice day, I'm staying at an Air BnB for the first time.
The place is about 4-5 blocks from the rink and I think this will be another great way to experience some Manitoba hospitality.

Part 2
I checked into my Air BnB near the rink, very nice people, most welcoming, glad I made this choice.
It was about six weeks ago that i tried to get a room in Brandon, not a place to be had  (now I know how Mary and Joseph felt) too bad they didn't have Air BnB back then.
Going to head to the rink shortly and catch up to a few parents before the game. It should be a very good game Brandon is playing well.

I will provide a post game analysis when I get back later tonite.

PART 3 The force was not with us tonight
Another full house in Brandon tonight and it wasn't the result that I wanted to see. A very quaint little rink  the Westman  Center holds about 5500 fans not a bad seat in the rink a state of the art score board and video being the only big team in town support is strong.
It was Star Wars theme night and it sure brought out the Star War fans there were Ewoks and Storm Troopers of all ages I personally think the seniors dressed up in the star wars regalia is kind of creepy.
I must admit that Brandon has one of the better logos in the league and almost all the fans here are wearing Brandon Logo'd gear from hats, coats and jerseys..(except for the Ewoks). Brandon is now on an eight game winning streak after tonight's game, We took a lot of penalties and we paid the price
with the Wheatkings having one of the best power plays in the league.
I had a quick chat with Gordie after the game he was still upbeat and knowing that this was going to be one of the tougher games on the road trip. The team goes back to Regina tonight and will use it as a base for both games in Swift Current and Moose Jaw before they head up to Saskatoon. We will be losing three players to the World Junior camp so some newer players will draw into the lineup later this week. Brandon seems like a nice city but hard to tell with six inches of snow and ice everywhere.
